DUSHANBE SAMOYEDS

  I purchased my first Samoyed in 1968 while  in high school. My love affair with the breed has been constant and I have always had at least one Sammy in residence even when raising children and putting breeding and showing on the back burner for over a decade.

   My first dog became CH & OTCH SNO-HAVEN'S ALPHA, UD  who was only the Third Samoyed in Canada to earn a Utility Degree.

   Our first homebred was BIS CAN AM CH DUSHANBE'S THE ONE AND ONLY, CAN AM CD ROMC. "SPRING" was the first Canadianbred female Samoyed to win a Best In Show in Canada.  She is pictured on the left at Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia.

   We have owned or bred ninety-three Samoyeds who have  become champions since those early beginnings and many have won group placements or best puppy awards. We have had five generations of champion/CD titlists proving that our line is versatile and highly trainable. We have also attained 115 performance titles on Samoyeds owned or bred by us. Our Samoyeds are our housedogs so have to have the right temperament for us to live with.

   We have added more than half of those champions since getting back into the dog game after raising our children and have put  over eighty performance titles on them since then as well.

   Our pride and joy during this period was  BIS GCHX VANDERBILT'S MAN 'O WAR, CD CGN TT TDI RAE Am RN. "MANNY" was the Top Winning Samoyed Puppy in Canada in 2003 and the Third Top Winning Samoyed in Canada in 2005. He was the first Samoyed in Canada to attain his Grand Championship and the first to earn all four of his rally obedience titles (RN RA RE RAE). Manny also won Award of Merit at two of the three National Specialties he was shown at in Canada.

   "TENNY", CH VANDERBILT PAINTME PRETENTIOUS, CGN PCD TDI Can Am RN ROMC, became our new foundation bitch during this period and has thirteen champions to her credit. She has a son who is a multiple American Specialty winner and twice was Award of Merit at the Samoyed Club of America National Specialty and is an American Group First winner. She has a grandson who is a multiple group winner and one of the  top winning Samoyeds in the USA.  She also has a grandson who won Best of Breed at the huge Crufts Dog Show in England. She has champion grandchildren and other champion descendants in Europe, USA and Australia as well as here in Canada. Another grandson recently sired a litter of six puppies who are in show homes in five European countries. We are extremely proud of our talented 'foot warmer' of a couch potato. 

   "CRUSH",  BIS GCHEx & CFC CH DUSHANBE'S DREAMBOAT, CGN RAE3 RM NDD CD, is our current winner with many group wins and placings to his credit plus was #3 SAMOYED IN CANADA FOR 2015 and #4 Samoyed in Canada for 2017 and 2018 and #5 in 2019. He was the TOP RALLY SAMOYED IN CANADA for 2016, 2017 and 2018 as well as 2019. Plus, in 2017 he was #3 in the Working Group and #15 All Breeds and in 2018, # 7 in the Working Group and #4 in 2019! He is a descendant of Tenny's and has made us proud in the show ring, rally ring and as a supurb house dog.

    We look forward to an exciting future showing and breeding new generations of quality Samoyeds.
