Fun Activities

Samoyeds love to participate in whatever activities their family enjoys doing. This can be anything from structured competitions to a simple outing for the day. The following may give you ideas of what you can do with your own companion.

"CHIP", now known as "KASPER", Group Winning CFC CH SNOWSTAR DUSHANBE I AM MINT (sired by Ch & CFC Ch Dushanbe's Make Mine Cool Mint,CGN RN PCD out of BIS Ch Snowstar's Summer Songs) is pictured learning the concept of pulling. He is running beside his buddy Hudson pulling a bike. I'm sure he adapted really well to sledding with all our snow this winter. He is now owned by Rhonda Rees of Halifax NS. "HOUSTON", CH DUSHANBE'S ONCE MORE WITH FEELING (sired by Can Am Ch Vanderbilt's True Lee out of Ch Vanderbilt's Ice It Up Dushanbe, CD CGN RA TT) is shown ski-joring with his best buddy Elspeth MacKenzie in Kentville, NS. Houston proudly endorses Invisible Fence and has greeted people at their booth at Expos in the past. Elspeth's mother, Annette, knits lovely warm mittens and hats after carding and spinning his hair. Elspeth is wearing one of her creations in the above picture.

"MENLEY", Multiple Group Placing CH DUSHANBE'S MANHATTAN SKYLINE (sired by GCHX BIS CH Vanderbilt's Man O' War, CD CGN RAE TT TDI Am RN out of Ch Vanderbilt Paint Me Pretentious, CGN PCD ROMC Can Am RN) is pictured enjoying a bit of rafting. He is much loved by his family Bonnie Tam and Patrick Wong-Tung of Ontario. Bonnie takes Menley out for a jog while she roller blades beside him. "PAINTER", Group Winning BISS  AM GCH VANDERBILT'S I'LL PAINT MANHATTAN, CGC BN RN MX MXJ NAP NJP XF (sired by GCHX BIS CH Vanderbilt's Man O' War, CD CGN RAE TT TDI Am RN out of Ch Vanderbilt Paint Me Pretentious, CGN PCD TDI ROMC Can Am RN) is pictured competing in agility at the 2008 SCA national specialty in Topeka, Kansas. He is a very versatile Samoyed having won Best of Breed at two Samoyed Specialty shows, was Award of Merit at two SCA National specialties, won a Group First and several placings  and has earned obedience, rally and agility titles. He stays in shape with a daily jog while his owner and trainer Allison Baker of New Orleans, USA bikes beside him. His parents MANNY and TENNY can be seen on our Boys and Girls pages

"LILAC", Group Winning CH & CFC CH DUSHANBE'S AS COOL AS IT GETS, CGN RN PCD (sired by BIS BISS Can Am Ch Vanderbilt's Playin' It Cool out of Ch Vanderbilt Paint Me Pretentious, CGN PCD TDI ROMC Can Am RN) is pictured sleeping on my husband's lap while camping at a dog show. She is his lap dog at home as well.

"HOBBS", DUSHANBE'S NEW YORK NEW YORK (sired by BPIG winner Dushanbe's I'll Take New York and out of BPIS Ch Dushanbe's I'll Take Manhattan, CGN) is pictured wearing his Therapy Dog vest. He and his owner Paulette Corbett of Cape Breton, NS visited senior homes, schools and helped with a children's reading program with the Screaming Eagles hockey players. Paulette now has a new Samoyed puppy from us named MISS SAM who already has been attending these functions as well as particpating in the university exam week dog petting stress relief program.

"KERMIT" is pictured at one year of age swimming in the lake to keep cool during the summer heat. He is sired by BISS Am Ch Polar Mist Here Comes Trouble and out of Ch Dushanbe's Cool Summer Breeze. He lives with his family Chris and Laura Devlin in Toronto, Ontario. He was co-bred with Heather Galloway of Snowshow Samoyeds, Rice's Landing, Pennsylvania, USA.
